Cheers!

Ah, how I love a good toast.

I've been contemplating starting this blog for a while now. I think I created this blog over a year ago with the intention of writing about Houston restaurants. My goals for it have changed, though. I hope the new title didn't give my surprise away, but, drum roll please...this blog is going to be about wine!

I want this site to appeal to people everywhere. I'll cover a range of topics related to the wine world. Hopefully I'll be able to educate some of my interested readers, as well. Wine lists can be intimidating, and I hope I will be able to provide everyone from the neophyte to the seasoned wino with relevant and useful information. Just think how impressive you'll sound discussing how the terroir of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume express different qualities of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Say that out loud right now. I bet you're already impressed with how worldly you sound.

I am going to do something special for my fellow Houstonians, though. Whenever I go out to drink, I always am looking to get the best bang for my buck (you know, because of all that stuff with the economy). Unfortunately, my taste in wine is so beyond what I can afford (occupational hazard, I guess). Sometimes spending $70 on a bottle of wine is the biggest rip off, and other times it is a complete steal. I want to let y'all know where you can find good bottles at good prices. At some places its worth it to spend more on a bottle of wine, especially if that $70 bottle goes for $100+ at every other restaurant in Houston. And then we places where you may just want to skip the wine list all together. Although this section of my blog will be Houston focused, I hope that my friends outside of the city will be able to use this information as a benchmark for when they dine out in their own cities.

I hope you enjoy my blog. But more importantly, I hope you find wine you truly enjoy even more.

Happy drinking, my loves!
